Oman Cement to raise production capacity

Oman Cement Company (OCC) has revealed plans to increase its cement grinding capacity by installing a new cement mill with a 150,000kg per hour capacity

OCC chairman Abdullah Abbas Ahmed said, ?The process of identifying a suitable vendor is in progress.?

A statement from Oman Cement revealed that the work on capacity upgrade of kiln-1 was already in progress and all efforts were being made by the company to speed up the implementation.

The company also has plans to improve its pollution control equipment of line -2 to decrease dust emission levels.

The cement firm pointed out that the growth in government spending on infrastructure projects has driven demand for cement in Oman.

Ahmed noted, ?With the company?s well-structured pricing policy, we hope that in spite of competition with other cement manufacturers, particularly from neighbouring countries, the company will continue to do well in retaining its market share.?
