Saudi Arabia?s diversified manufacturing company and one of the largest petrochemicals companies, SABIC signed an MoU with Saudi Contractors Authority (SCA) to enhance the collaboration and sharing of the know-how in the construction industry
The construction sector is the second largest non-oil sector in the kingdom and the contracting industry is an integral part of this field.
The MoU was signed by Omar Al-Amoudi, SABIC executive V-P, engineering and project management, and Thabet Al-Sawyeed, governor and general secretary of SCA, and will support knowledge sharing between the organizations and help embed best practices in contracting.
Yousef Al-Benyan, SABIC CEO, said, ?SABIC is proud to work with SCA to support and guide the construction sector through sharing its long experience in construction management, contracting, sustainability, and contractor qualification and selection.?
He added that the signing of the MoU with SCA signalled the recognition of the importance of sharing the contracting best practices SABIC have developed and are confident that this effort will stimulate the national economy and local content, achieve industry-leading performance and leverage technology innovation.
SCA is one of the major stakeholders for SABIC engineering and project management and is aiming to organise and develop the contracting sector in Saudi Arabia.
SABIC, by this MoU, will share its expertise to contribute in the efforts aiming at improving the contracting practices, which is expected to lead to successful construction projects, with safety and quality, achieving the Vision 2030.
