Hamm AG has launched its fully electric tandem rollers

The expanded lineup included eight fully electric models that compact without producing local emissions. This brings the total number of compact tandem rollers in the HD CompactLine to more than 40, which are suitable for asphalt and landscape gardening. Since 2022, the HC CompactLine series has also included five small compactors for earthworks. Both series are versatile and easy to handle, making them ideal for machine rental.

The new electric models have also gained significant demand since their introduction at Bauma 2022, including from the rental sector. Many construction companies require machines that do not emit local emissions for specific projects, and rental fleets support these needs. Additionally, the adoption of electric compact rollers will continue to increase due to legal requirements and the voluntary commitments made by builders and construction companies.

These machines prioritise even weight distribution on both axles. In asphalt construction, this results in level surfaces with minimal undulation and reduces the risk of overturning during cornering. For earthworks, the compactors offer excellent directional stability and effective shock absorption, enabling safe compaction on uneven terrain. Furthermore, these compactors have impressive off-road capabilities with high ground clearance and the ability to handle gradients of 60% and more. Among compactors in its weight class, the H 70i stands out as the shortest in the world, with a length of around 4.40 m.

The workstations of these machines are ergonomically optimised to ensure good visibility, and drivers can easily adjust the seat to their preferred height and weight.

Hamm provides a diverse range of compaction models and technologies under the HD CompactLine series. The series includes tandem rollers with vibrating or oscillation drums, combination rollers, and a pneumatic-tyre roller. With operating weights ranging from 1.5 to 4.5 t, and drum widths of 800 to 1400 mm, there is a compactor for all applications.

The HD CompactLine series also has several rental-specific features, including drum edge lighting and a ROPS cab. The machines are equipped with Kubota power units aimed at providing fuel-efficient performance, and they comply with relevant emission standards. Hamm compactors offer versatility in drum options, where the HC 70i can compact with either vibration or oscillation, thereby expanding its range of applications.

The HD CompactLineseries also features eight electric rollers equipped with a Li-ion battery with rapid-charging capability of around four hours. Daily maintenance points for the compact machines have been designed to be conveniently located on one side of the engine, and an automatic engine stop function helps conserve fuel and extend power unit life.
