MEEZA HAS ANNOUNCED the opening of M-Vault 1, a state-of-the-art Data Centre based on Tier 3 specifications located at Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP). The vision of QSTP is to spur the development of Qatar?s economy and forms the home of many technology
based companies from around the world. ?Data centres are both vital to the research process and a spring-board for innovative new enterprises," said Dr. Eulian Roberts, managing director of QSTP. "MEEZA?s new M-VAULT 1 represents an engine that will accelerate these advances in Qatar?.
MEEZA, established in partnership with the Qatar foundation for education science and community development, officially launched its services to the market in November, 2008. The company offers clients cost savings from a reduced need to invest capital in IT infrastructure. M-Vault 1 is the first of its kind in Qatar and is located at a highly secure location within the Science and Technology Park. It offers clients 99.98 per cent availability, the highest levels offered by commercial data centres in Qatar. Additional data centres are being established in Qatar.
?MEEZA has invested in this world class data centre because we believe that IT security and availability of data are very important to our clients and this facility will enable us to deliver secure and costeffective IT services to our client," said Hamad Al Mannai, deputy CEO of MEEZA.
"Information and technology will be essential tools in the realisation of Qatar?s ambition to build a knowledge-based economy both for now and the future.? The first services to be offered from MVAULT 1, to clients such as Vodafone Qatar and Masraf Al Rayan, include managed storage, network and security as well as disaster recovery capabilities. MEEZA is also uniquely positioned to introduce Cloud Services to the region. Cloud Services provide businesses with access to a robust IT infrastructure and the latest applications without having to bear the high costs of license ownership and maintenance. Throughout 2009, MEEZA will offer a large portfolio of managed services to clients and will lay the foundation to deliver a fully capable cloud services offering to the region in 2010.
