Boeing partners with Qatar Airways to deliver new services package

Boeing and Qatar Airways will launch a new 777 performance improvement package to open new routes, improve fuel efficiency and increase payload capabilities

Qatar Airways made the announcement at the 2016 Farnborough International Airshow, adding that it will be the first customer in the world to see the benefits of the new service.

"Qatar Airways operates one of the world's youngest and most technologically advanced fleets, and we are always seeking ways to grow our operational advantage," said Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways group chief executive.

"We appreciate Boeing's continued efforts to improve the value and efficiency of our existing airplanes, allowing us to stand out in the marketplace and keep our fleet at the forefront of global aircraft performance capabilities."

According to the aerospace company, Boeing?s retrofittable performance improvement package enables airlines to create new routes, fly existing routes with more ease and and improve payload capacity and range. Qatar Airways said that it will be upgrading its entire fleet of 53 777s, as the launch customer for the new services.

"With our performance improvement package, we're helping our customers obtain even greater performance from the market leading 777 family of aircraft."
