Parisian subsidiary to expand Bahrain airport

ADPI (A?roports de Paris Ing?nierie) has won a contract to supervise the expansion of Bahrain International Airport

Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) and the Bahrain Transport Ministry chose ADPI to conduct all studies on the development of the airport for the next 20 years to design and supervise construction of a new passenger terminal of more than 150,000 square metres.

ADPI said the tasks are expected to generate US$33.7mn for the firm and will be executed over five years. Construction of the new terminal is set to begin in late 2014 and be completed in late 2018.

Guillaume Sauv?, CEO of ADPI said, "The international airport is of fundamental importance to Bahrain which has become a major centre for finance and trading over the last few years."

This phase of airport modernisation is valued at US$675mn and considered to be the largest Bahraini project currently underway.
