Logistics giant, Aramex, and enterprise software provider, SAP, have formed a partnership for the growing Middle East logistics and transportation market

SAP will provide a variety of back-end technology services with a strong focus on software with real-time capabilities. In particular, big data analytics, powered by the SAP S/4 HANA real-time analytics platform will be deployed by Aramex to assist with a broad range of operations, including enterprise resource planning, finance, accounting, e-commerce, record and information management, warehouse management and transportation.

"Dubai and the Middle East are taking an increasing role in global logistics, with the region's organisations being among the world's early adopters of technology in the Internet of Things era," said Tayfun Topkoc, managing director of SAP UAE.

Iyad Kamal, chief operating officer of Aramex described the partnership with SAP as "a natural, logical step in further streamlining our global business operations."

The back-end software upgrades will take place in Aramex's Dubai office, which is the company's Middle East hub.>
