Vopak Horizon Fujairah has announced the seventh expansion phase of its Black Pearl project

The company, a joint venture between Royal Vopak and Horizon Terminals Ltd, announced this month that the overall crude storage capacity of the project will increase to 2.6mcm with the installation of five new tanks.

The expansion is due to be completed by the summer of 2016, and will also entail the construction of a VLCC (very large crude carrier) jetty, allowing the world?s largest tankers to dock at the port of Fujairah, UAE.

Saeed Abdullah Khoory, CEO of Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), which owns the joint venture, said, ?The opening of the seventh phase marks another milestone for Vopak Horizon Fujairah Ltd.?

?With Fujairah?s status rising in the oil trade, our new storage expansion will be of great economic value to our partners and we look forward to giving them world-class service and support,? Khoory added.

The Black Pearl project is a collaboration between Vopak Horizon Fujairah and the Port of Fujairah.
