Yokogawa releases new improved integrated production control system

CENTUM VP R5.04 boasts enhanced batch processing by integrating both procedures and formulas on the same screen.

Yokogawa Electric Corporation has released CENTUM VP R5.04, a new and enhanced version of its flagship integrated production control system, it announced last week

With new features including improved alarm and batch functions, the CENTUM VP R5.04 is a result of a conscious effort by Yokogawa to improve the system, under its industrial automation and control (IA) concept VigilantPlant.

According to the Japanese electrical engineering and software firm, the enhanced alarm function improves operational safety, while the new improved batch function meets specific requirements of industries such as speciality chemical.

The developed alarm system consists of colour, shape, and sound indicators that show operators the importance of a measurement item and the severity of an anomaly, allowing for improved operational safety.

Additionally, the new batch function is designed so that end users efficiently perform the engineering required for each definition method, by including both procedures and formulas together on the same screen.

With the CENTUM VP R5.04 Yokogawa is targeting manufacturers in process industries, such as electric power, oil and gas, iron and steel, petrochemicals, and water and wastewater treatment.
