SNC-Lavalin has announced the appointment of Sohail Samdani as senior vice-president and general manager for the company?s mining and metallurgy sector in the Middle East

Samdani has about 20 years of international experience in business management, engineering, project management, business development, strategy development and implementation in mining, metallurgy and infrastructure sectors. During this time, he has successfully delivered many projects of all sizes, including the multi-billion dollar, in Australia, Russia, Central Asia, the Middle East, Africa, North America and Latin America.
Located in the Middle East, Samdani will oversee current mining and metallurgy projects as well as drive future growth prospects to further strengthen the company?s long-established presence in the region. SNC-Lavalin has a track record of delivering projects on schedule and budget and has been recognised in the Middle East with many awards of excellence, notably GCC Industrial Project of the Year at MEED?s 2012 Quality Awards for EMAL Phase 1 and UAE Industrial Project of the Year at MEED?s 2015 Quality Awards for EMAL Phase 2.
Previously, Samdani successfully led capital projects at SNC-Lavalin in the mining and metallurgy sector in North America as a vice-president. He also held a number of project management positions during a 13-year tenure at WorleyParsons.
