Daewoo Engineering & Construction was awarded a US$1.2 billion deal to build a thermal power plant in Oman.

Under the deal made with Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP), Daewoo plans to construct the 2,000 MW plant in Sur, 200 km southeast of Oman's capital, Muscat,
The plant is scheduled to be built by April 2014, Daewoo said in a statement.
