Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has invited consulting companies to submit their proposals and tenders for implementing a Smart Grid strategy to increase its electrical networks output while reducing energy consumption

Setting May as the deadline for submission, the utility company plans to connect renewable energy resources to the grid and reduce its carbon footprint.

DEWA has been looking at improving grid operations so that it can management infrastructure investments more efficiently. Its strategy has been focused on incorporating automated decision making and interoperability in the system and optimising the city's generation, transmission and distribution networks.
