SEC awards transmission deal to KEC International

Saudi Electricity Company has awarded KEC a US$881mn deal for supply and construction of transmission lines on turnkey basis.

Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has awarded KEC International a US$881mn deal for supply and construction of transmission lines on turnkey basis, which is expected to be completed in 24 months.

The order from Saudi Electricity Company is for 380 kV double circuit overhead transmission lines at a length of 169 km.

KEC International in a statement said the order was secured through the firm's joint venture with Al-Sharif Group. "We are happy to keep the continuous momentum of new orders despite the challenging global economic environment," KEC International managing director and CEO Ramesh Chandak said.
