Averda, an environmental solution provider in Middle East and Africa, has received ?UAE Waste Management Company of the Year Award-Private Entity? at the Frost & Sullivan?s Excellence in Best Practices Awards Banquet-Middle East
The award ceremony was held on 24 May 2017 at Atlantis The Palm in Dubai.
Commenting on the award, Abhay Bhargava, business head MENASA, energy and environment practice in Frost & Sullivan, said, ?Averda?s cross function visibility across areas such as municipal waste, technical waste, and commercial collection services coupled with its ability to provide other specialised solutions for medical waste treatment, e-waste, etc., with an emphasis on ?waste to energy? techniques gives the company a competitive edge over other players in the market.?
Serving around nine million people every day, Averda has more than 35 per cent yearly global revenue growth rate in the waste management industry.
Frost & Sullivan said that Averda won this award due to its role in the integrated waste management solution, which includes cleaning and collecting, recovering, recycling, diverting and disposing of wastes across municipal projects, technical waste and commercial collection sectors in the Middle East and Africa region.
The organisers added that Averda?s role in educating the residents about waste segregation techniques and benefits of recycling to the environment are also key reasons for receiving the award.
