Management service provider MAF Dalkia has signed an energy performance contract with Etihad Energy Service Company (Etihad ESCO) to deliver energy-saving solutions for seven DEWA-owned buildings in Dubai
The Energy Savings Performance Contracts would enable DEWA lower its carbon footprint and save energy through efficiency.
According to the contract, MAF Dalkia will deliver energy-saving and water conservation solutions for the seven buildings through building control systems, chiller plant facilities, air conditioning and water systems, stated officials from MAF Dalkia.
Additionally, the contract would be the operational tool for Etihad ESCO to deliver guaranteed savings in one of its two Energy Savings Performance Contracts, signed between DEWA and Etihad ESCO.
Alex Mussallam, CEO of MAF Dalkia said, ?MAF Dalkia is proud to be appointed to deliver the savings in this first Energy Savings Performance Contract. Following our accreditation as an ESCO and the launching of our Energy Saving Centre in April 2014, this appointment reaffirms our commitment to sustainability and energy management in Middle East, and our support of Dubai?s 2030 vision to reduce energy consumption by 30 per cent.?
The partnership between MAF Dalkia and Etihad ESCO would ensure overall savings in electricity and water use of 31 per cent for six years with an overall payback of six years. Comprehensive long-term maintenance, and repair and replacement of the installed components are also funded through guaranteed energy savings to ensure the installed improvements remain in good working order over the respective contract duration, added MAF Dalkia officials.
