Saudi Arabian utility company Marafiq has awarded Jacobs Engineering Group a one-year contract extension to continue providing it with project management contractor (PMC) services for its water and power projects in the kingdom
Jacobs will continue to provide PMC services for a number of projects in Jubail and Yanbu industrial cities on projects that will involve expansions, upgrades and installations of wastewater treatment plants, desalination plants and electrical power generation facilities.
In a statement, the management at Marafiq said, "This contract extension is recognition by Marafiq of the excellent support being extended to Marafiq by the Jacobs team in the execution of Marafiq projects."
Jacobs' workload will incorporate conceptual design, front-end engineering, tender support, construction and commissioning supervision, as well as a host of other services.
Mike Coyle, group vice president for Jacobs, remarked, "Jacobs continues to grow in Saudi Arabia and Marafiq is an important part of that growth. We are fully committed to building a fully self-sufficient, in-kingdom capability in Saudi Arabia."
All of the contracted work will be undertaken on-site with support from Jacobs' facilities in Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia, Winnersh in the UK and its Indian office in Mumbai.
Marafiq's core business is comprised of the development, operation and maintenance of power and water treatment systems to provide utility services for Jubail and Yanbu.
