SNC-Lavalin wins US$71mn district cooling contracts

Engineering and construction group SNC-Lavalin has been awarded two district cooling contracts worth US$71mn in Saudi Arabia by the Saudi Dahran Cooling Company and the Central District Cooling Company

Saudi Tabreed, a subsidiary of the Saudi Dahran Cooling Company, has awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to SNC-Lavalin to expand cooling facilities at the Aramco District Cooling Plant in Dhahran.

SNC-Lavalin will oversee and supervise the design, procurement, construction and commissioning of 5,000 refrigeration tonnes (RT) with associated equipment, energy transfer stations and chilled water networks to achieve a total cooling capacity of 32,000 RT.

The company will also work on the design, procurement, construction and commissioning of 10,000 RT with associated equipment and water networks, to achieve a total cooling capacity of 35,000 RT at the Jabal Omar Development Company in Makkah.
