UK-based Bluewater Bio International has launched a US$21.2mn waste water treatment project at the Tubli Water Pollution Control Centre (WPCC) in Bahrain
Powered by the company?s HYBACS technology, the plant will treat 100,000 cubic metres of sewage water a day at the Tubli WPCC.
The project was inaugurated by Bahrain?s minister of works, HE Essam Bin Abdulla Khalaf, UK?s ambassador to Bahrain, Iain Lindsay and Bluewater chief executive officer Daniel Ishag.
Ishag said, ?We are delighted to have been selected by the Bahraini government for the Tubli waste water treatment plant upgrade. This prestigious project is a significant contribution to the regional environment and ecology.?
The Bahrain Ministry of Works assistant undersecretary, Khalifa Al Mansoor, said, ?Preliminary results indicate that the new system is operating efficiently and in line with the standard specifications and measures stipulated for the project.?
The project was implemented in two stages. The first phase, which was completed in June 2013, was tested to treat 50,000 cubic metres of waste water.
?I am thrilled with the effluent quality results at Tubli until now, along with the strong feedback that we have received from the Ministry of Works,? added Ishag.
