Omans Electricity Holding Company (EHC) and French water and energy solutions provider Veolia Environnement (Veolia) have entered into a joint venture agreement to establish the Utilities Centre for Competency Development (UCCD)

The signing ceremony took place recently in Muscat in the presence of the EHC and Public Authority for Electricity and Water chairman Mohammed bin Abdullah al Mahrouqi. It was attended by senior officials from EHC and Veolia.

As part of the agreement, EHC and Veolia will form a close collaboration and join expertise to source talent and offer tailor-made training solutions for the electricity and water sectors in Oman.

Through the establishment of the UCCD, EHC said it hoped to contribute to the development of Omani talent through the provision of competency assessments and training programmes.

EHC added that the UCCD will equip and inspire Omani companies to practice high standards at the professional front, develop their capacities and encourage Omani talents to realise their full potential.
