Offering a highly configurable design, the new Cat 426F2 backhoe loader with side shift frame provides customers with additional choices, allowing the selection of a more base-specification model or a highly configured machine to match budget and operating needs for the Middle East and Africa region
Customers can choose between two- or four-wheel drive, backhoe loader or excavator control pattern, cab climate control packages, and specified Product Link? technology levels, among other options, to get the machine matched to their requirements.
Adding to the popular Cat F2 Series backhoe loader family, the new 426F2 is designed with the operator in mind, featuring an all-new cab design that provides a comfortable and operator-friendly environment with excellent visibility. High pump oil flow delivers excellent hydraulic performance at the operator?s fingertips and load-sensing hydraulics enable this new Cat machine to efficiently tackle a variety of applications ranging from loading and carrying to full-depth trenching.
Delivering the power and productivity needed for high-performance jobs, the new 426F2 backhoe loader can be equipped with up to a 1.05 cu/m loader bucket offering a 7,012kg tipping load at breakout point. It?s standard 4.3 metre-long standard excavator-style stick delivers a 4.7 metres maximum digging depth and 4.03 metres loading height.
Engine and powertrain
Built on the rugged, field-proven driveline found on existing F2 Series machines, the new 426F2 backhoe loader delivers excellent production performance combined with the reliability customers expect from Caterpillar. The machine is powered by the 68.5 kW Cat 3054C four-cylinder diesel engine with an advanced cooling system designed for efficient and reliable operation in ambient temperature reaching 50?C. An externally mounted engine pre-cleaner offers quick filter servicing for customers working in dusty operating conditions.
The Cat four-speed power shuttle transmission delivers effortless gear changes, up to 40km per hour road speeds and matched gear ratios for optimum performance in all applications. Whether equipped with standard two-wheel or optional four-wheel drive, the new 426F2 backhoe loader features standard 100 per cent differential lock, in the rear axle, to provide maximum traction in poor ground conditions.
With its enclosed rear axle design featuring a wet multi-plate braking system, the new 426F2 backhoe loader delivers reliable operation even in the harshest conditions. Self-adjusting and oil immersed, the system boasts dual brake pedals for split braking in tight corners to increase manoeuvrability.
Operator comfort standard
Providing maximum comfort during operation, the new wide cab design gives the operator extra room to freely switch positions when transitioning from one operating mode to another. The cab has been purpose-built for the African and Middle Eastern markets, offering increased storage space and space at the rear of the cab.
New mechanical hoe control layout features an integral stabilizer and boom lock control for effortless operation. Its ergonomic design ensures all controls, including the multifunction mechanical loader control with integral differential lock and transmission neutralizer switches, are within easy reach of the operator. Customers can choose between backhoe loader (+ or X) or excavator (ISO) control pattern to suit the operator?s preference.
With tinted glass standard to help regulate inside cab temperatures, the front curved windscreen and glazing encircling the operator enhances visibility. Flat glass panels located at the sides and rear of the operator lower replacement costs. Improved door and window seals protect against dust and debris infiltration. Large vents with the choice of heating and/or air conditioning help to moderate inner cab temperatures for comfortable operation.
Uncompromised performance
The new 426F2 backhoe loader?s structures are based on the proven 428F2 design for maximum operating reliability in the field. The machine?s parallel lift loader arms provide the operator with excellent forward visibility, exceptional breakout forces reaching 60.4 kN and class-leading lift capacity of 3,610kg at full height. General purpose (GP) or multipurpose (MP) buckets are available to precisely match the customer?s needs.
Whether it?s close-up truck loading or digging over obstacles, the new 426F2?s distinctive excavator-style boom outperforms straight boom designs. Fast cycle times and boom cushioning enable fast trenching. The machine delivers powerful dig forces of up to 57.2 kN. The 205? high-rotation bucket linkage ensures superior material retention and exceptional material removal from the trench. Its narrow 2.2 metre-wide main frame with side shift ensures excellent manoeuvrability and performance in confined spaces.
From full trenching mode to delicately digging around utilities, the new machine?s load-sensing, closed-centre hydraulic system closely matches power and hydraulic flow to the demand of the task at hand to moderate fuel usage, reduce operating noise levels and decrease wear and tear on key system components. Flow-sharing hydraulic valves ensure the correct oil flow to implement cylinders, providing greater implement control and eliminating oil starvation when operating multiple functions simultaneously.
Cat Product Link? comes standard on the new 426F2 backhoe loader to maximize machine uptime availability by offering remote data monitoring through VisionLink. Customers can specify the amount of critical machine operating data gathered, such as fuel usage, payload summaries, scheduled service reminders and fault code alerts, to help improve machine management.
