Qatar has become the world?s biggest exporter of urea following the inauguration of the US$604mn Qafco-6 project

A 15 per cent share of the world?s total traded urea is now produced at Qafco, making Qatar the world's fourth largest producer of urea.

Qatar's total annual urea production capacity has reached 5.6mn mt, or 17,000 tonnes per day.

The inauguration of Qafco-5 last year saw Qatar become the world?s largest fertiliser producer.

Qafco-6 is located in the industrial city of Mesaieed and was formally inaugurated by the crown prince of Qatar, H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
