Elsewedy Electric unit signs US$18.54mn contract with Canal Sugar

Elsewedy Electric for Trading and Distribution has signed a new engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract worth US$18.54mn to build a transmission line and an internal network for the Canal Sugar Company in Egypt

The EPC contract covers construction of an internal network of 33kV for 180 km with a value of US$15.34mn on turnkey basis and construction of a 33kV transmission line with a value of US$3.1mn on turnkey basis.

The contract gets implemented for the former over 24 months and the latter over six months commencing from the date of signing the contract and receiving the advance payment.

EETD had signed a contract worth US$26.76mn to build a substation and a transmission line for Canal Sugar Company in April this year. With the new agreement in place, the value of total contracts with Canal Sugar Company stood at around US$45.28mn.
